THE DUKE of Sussex and the
Duchess of Cambridge arrived
at Westminister Abbey together
to honour Australian and Kiwi
fighters who died in WWI.
The dawn service was followed
by a wreath-laying ceremony at
the Cenotaph attended by Chief
of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal
Sir Stephen Hillier and Chief of
the Defence Staff Sir Nick Carter.
The date marks the first major
military action by the two nations
at Gallipoli in 1915, where more
than 8,000 Kiwi and Australian
troops died in the ill-fated Allied
operation.
